  • Crystal Mountain taken over by former Boyne partner

In a move opposite of the trend these days, Crystal which was owned by Boyne is now under private ownership, One of the Boyne partners gave up his share of Boyne in lieu of independently owning Crystal. Pretty cool! http://www.saminfo.com/headline-news...-boyne-resorts

  • Rose Khutor Resorts in Sochi

Good day! Talk about his trip in April to the resort of Rosa Khutor. First, a ticket for 7 days bought from a tour operator, the cost cost 280 $ per person for accommodation in a double room. There were flights Saint.Petersburg-Sochi-Saint.Petersburg, transfer airport-hotel-airport and complimentary Breakfast. The hotel was selected Rosa Ski Inn. the advantages of this hotel that…

  • Mountain Creek – Ch. 11

Didn't see a thread on this. Mtn. Creek files for bankruptcy. Seems to be mainly a debt restructuring involving sewer debt and local municipalities, so it says they will stay open. But you have to wonder how this impacts short term borrowing for operations, and it's bad press if you're looking for pass buyers or condo buyers. http://www.njherald.com/20170516/mou...restructuring# By Eric…

  • Skiing on the Cheap – 2017-18 Edition

So I am going to start the thread for next year's skiing on the cheap! Just checked my email, and found that Wachusett will be giving away a free lift ticket for early season next year for participating in the Earth Day Cleanup on May 20th. Arrive before 10AM to get a free lift ticket and BBQ for helping clean…

  • 2017-18 Winter Seasonal Rental

Hello All, Long time member, mostly lurking around :) As the title says - my family is looking into renting a ski condo for this upcoming window in the New England area. My wife doesn't like the car, so we're looking at max 2.5 - 3 hours north of Boston. Loon, Waterville Valley, Attitash, etc. I'd like to stretch to…

  • Roof rack

Family has expanded to the point that the skis no longer fit in the car. Ideal setup would carry four pairs of skis in the winter and suitcases of the girl's crap in the summer. Not sure if a modular system exists. The dealer locator on the Thule website is nonfunctional. Can anyone recommend a dealer in southern NH?

  • MAX PASS – May 15th Price Early Buy Price Deadline

Brian Smuda here from SeasonPassSales.com. Today, Monday May 15th, is the cut off day for the extended early-buy pricing on the MAX Pass (44 resorts - ZERO Blackout Dates). I work with the resorts to get you the extended price. If you miss this deadline the price will be $679 and only rising from there. If you could let me…

  • Death of Retail?

We've seen a lot of ski retailers go under in recent years. Seems like many regular, large retailers have or will soon go under. Death watch in 2017 includes Penney's, Sears, Men's Wearhouse/Jos A. Bank, Casual Male, and a bunch of women's wear shops. When/Where is this going to end? I'm very old school and have never bought an article…

  • MAX vs MCP?

Random musing, since I haven't seen any discussion on which one suits who best. Both passes are "multi-resort" passes. But that's about the only thing they have in common: Cost: --- MAX is quite a bit more expensive than MCP as a stand alone. -- MAX is also available as an "add-on" to regular season passes. Except the add-on price…

  • MAX Pass 2017-18

Thinking about going with Wachusett + Add On for next year. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything on the rumor mill about any resorts being added. I remember last year a couple got added mid summer. Would be nice to see the east offerings get a little better. Stratton, Okemo, Sunapee, Loon are all kind of ehh... I'll probably…
