  • Demo Center Near Loon – Volkl Skis

My wife really wants to demo the Volkl 90Eights this Monday at Loon. I know the resort has them but we're parking at South Peak and we plan on avoiding the Gondola area on Monday. Does anyone know if the shops on the way toward Loon might demo that ski? Or know any shops I can call and ask?

  • Spring passes 2017

Killington with the 1st drop... A heck of a deal for sure, especially if the season REALLY goes deep this year!

  • Help me predict conditions this weekend

I’d really appreciate the opinions of those with experience. We’ve been pretty cold recently, but the weather is going to change dramatically for the weekend. I want to go to a local area for night skiing on Sunday night, but I have no idea what to expect with the coming warm up. Here is the forecast for the ski area,…

  • More funding, gondola for Belleayre

Gov. Cuomo announced today: http://links.orda-ryansolutions.mkt7...A3S0&mt=1&rt=0 "Upgrades at Belleayre Mountain include the construction of a high-speed, eight-person gondola that will span from the lower mountain Discovery Lodge to the mountain summit, providing more efficient, logical, and necessary access point to skiers and riders. The installation of this lift, along with other proposed changes, would overhaul the entire facility and elevate Belleayre…

  • Is Jay Peak Resort Over-inflating Snowfall Totals???

Different type of question here. Have not yet been to Jay Peak to ski, but thinking of going later this March. But I have reservations about going... Over the past several weeks, I've been tracking the snowfall totals over Jay, Smuggler's Notch and Stowe. I have a better than average understanding of "typical" snowfall in this area. With that in…

  • Windham vs Belleayre this Saturday?

Hi, wondering where to go this Saturday that will be best for people who stick to greens and blues. Usually go to Blue Mt in PA or Stratton in VT but looking for a quick day trip not too far from NYC and looks like these two got better snow recently vs PA. Know it's a holiday weekend so hoping…

  • Hopes for Longevity: 99-year-old skier

Here's hope I can get another 60+ years out there. "When you're skiing powder you either float through it easily or you get tired... I hate to admit it but I got tired." Not bad for nearly a century, man. "Powder makes you happy. You don't always have powder, but when you do you really have to go for…

  • Death @ Stowe on Tuesday likely from snow immersion

This sad story serves as a reminder to stay close to your tree-skiing buddies when the woods get deep. RIP. Quote: STOWE, Vt. - A day after a UVM student died in the woods at the Stowe Mountain Resort, ski patrollers are saying he didn't do anything wrong. Brett Cohen, 22, died from injuries he sustained, after spending eight hours…
