After Hours Coyote Challenge & Mardi Gras at Jiminy Peak

HANCOCK, Massachusetts ??” The third event in the seven event After Hours Coyote Challenge series is a Half-pipe competition scheduled for Saturday, February 5th at Jiminy Peak. The After Hours Coyote Challenge is a seven event ski and snowboard series that includes two rail jams, two half pipe competitions, two park competitions, and a finals event for all disciplines.

Skiers and riders may pick and choose between events, or compete in all of them. Ultimately the top finishers will move on to the finals to be held on Spring Fling weekend, March 26, 2005.All events begin at 4:00 pm, and registration and check-in begins at 3:00 pm in Crane Lodge. The events are judged by members of the Jiminy Peak Ski & Snowboard School. Single event registration is $5.00 in advance and $7.00 on the day of the competition, plus a valid Jiminy Peak lift ticket. Registration is available online as well as at the Ski School Desk in East Base Lodge.

Participants are awarded points for their performances. At the end of the season their point totals will help determine who makes it to the finals, with the top ten in points in each category qualifying for that respective final. Those who have competed in every event, and have finished in the top ten in each category, will qualify to compete for the overall title. There will be winners for each discipline and one overall winner for the series who will have competed in all three disciplines in the finals, and in each event throughout the season.

Saturday, February 5th will also be Mardi Gras at Jiminy Peak. Mardi Gras at Jiminy is a family-style celebration with mask making and face painting for the kids and a contest for the best mask. We??в„ўll create a New Orleans feel around the mountain with music, food, and beads!
