BARTLETT, New Hampshire ??” In honor of its Founder’s Day, Attitash featured the group Assembly of Dust who performed to over 400 fans in the Attitash Grand Summit Hotel Ballroom in Bartlett, NH on Saturday night. Playing songs ranging in style from folk, country, funk, rock and reggae, fans moved and grooved to the up and coming “Jam” band for nearly three hours. Having recently opened for bands like the Allman Brothers and Dave Mathews, AOD left Attitash to perform at a Joni Mitchell tribute concert at Carnegie Hall. AOD recently released its newest album The Honest Hour.
Assembly of Dust’s musical line-up includes Reid Genauer and several of the East Coast’s favorite underground players: keyboardist and co-songwriter writer Nate Wilson and bassist/backing vocalist John Leccese (both from Percy Hill), Moon Boot Lover drummer Andy Herrick, and guitarist/backing vocalist Adam Terrell from the collective known as Groovechild.
The mix of ages reflected the bands musical variety and unique fan base with the youngest in attendance being 18 years of age and judging by the receding hairlines and grey hair of many of the others at the show, a good portion of the crowd was in their 40’s, 50s and 60s.
The band, of which three are natives of New Hampshire, enjoyed the trip back to their home state. Reid Genauer was thrilled at “the gorgeous sunset” and although “inspired by the sounds of the snow guns and the energy from the good New Hampshire oxygen there will be no time for making turns at Attitash because duty calls,” he said referring to their trip to Carnegie Hall.
Following up last year’s Five Day Forty concert with AOD, Eric Fredrickson from Attitash and organizer of the show was pleased with how the evening went. “You just don’t see this level of performer in Mt. Washington Valley very often. Everybody had a great time.”
Attitash is in the White Mountains of New Hampshire on Rt. 302 in Bartlett. During the winter Attitash offers 2 mountains with 70 trails and 22 miles of skiing and riding on 280 acres. In the summer guests can enjoy North America’s longest Alpine Slides, waterslides, a scenic sky ride, lift-serviced mountain biking, climbing wall, Trampoline Thing, horseback rides, driving range and skate park.
