SOUTH EGREMONT, Massachusetts ??” The Catamount Ski Area, which straddles the Massachusetts/New York state line in the Berkshires, has a special offer for skiers and snowboarders: Unlimited free skiing during the month of March.

The catch? Skiers and snowboarders must purchase a season pass for the 2006-2007 ski season. But as ???catches’ go, it’s not much of an obligation ??“ because early purchase of a season pass is just $199 for adults, $179 for juniors (ages 7 ??“ 13) and seniors (65 ??“ 69) and $70 for children 6 and under and skiers ages 70 and up.

“This is the third year we’ve made this offer at this price,” said Catamount general manager Bill Gilbert. “Many people use the pass enough times in March to more than pay for itself. It’s almost like skiing free for the entire next season.”
The passes are available at the resort, by contacting the resort, or by online purchase at the resort’s website, www.catamountski.com.

Depending on weather conditions, Catamount expects to offer skiing well into March and possibly into early April this winter.
