Contour announces Contour+2 Action Camera, Includes GPS and New Features
Contour, manufacturer of action cams that compete with the likes of the venerable GoPro, announced today the release of their new top of the line action cam, the Contour+2, replacing the Contour+.
The camera features several recording modes, including 1080p/30fps, 720p/30fps, 720p/60fps, 960p/30fps and a brand new high FPS option of 480p / 120fps for slow motion footage. The same Instant On switch as the original Contour+, which means there is no need to power the device on and then subsequently press a record button.
The camera also features a new case which makes it submersible to 60 meters. Other features that Contour believes set it apart from other cameras include:
- The ability to tweak settings, including white balance, contrast, exposure, and sharpness
- Bluetooth; to natively connect to a mobile phone as a viewfinder or to edit and share captured video
- Built-in GPS to record speed, altitude, and distance mapping
We haven’t had the chance to play with one yet; but the features look very promising – however they come at a price – MSRP on this bad boy is $399.
