Free Nevers Band Concert in Franconia Notch State Park
CONCORD, New Hampshire ??” The New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of New Hampshire (GFWC-NH) announce a free concert by the Nevers Band. It is scheduled for Saturday, July 9 at 1:00pm, rain or shine, on the field at Exit 34B in Franconia Notch State Park. Concert goers are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the music.
The concert marks the beginning of a series of events sponsored by the Division and GFWC-NH to commemorate the 200th Discovery of the Old Man of the Mountain. In addition to the concert, a Family Fun day has been planned for August 20th on Profile Field. Rounding out the series there will be a Harvest Day on Profile Field on September 24th. The venue for all events is Franconia Notch State Park, former home of the Old Man of the Mountain.
The Division of Parks and Recreation teamed with GFWC-NH because they have chosen to support the Old Man of the Mountain Legacy Fund as their President’s Project for 2004-2006. “We have chosen this project because of our long association with the Old Man and with Franconia Notch State Park,” said Gail LeShane, President of the GFWC-NH.
