HIGHMOUNT, New York — Winter is far from over at Belleayre Mountain. In the past week, Belleayre has received over 16 inches of accumulation, powdering the mogul trails and flooding the glades with mounds of snow. With so much coverage, there is every reason to take advantage of the many promotions happening at Belleayre Mountain. The Sales division is eager to declare that “every Sunday is now a Flex Day.” Every Sunday until the end of the 2008-2009 winter, patrons can now redeem their 2008-2009 Potter Brother’s purchased Flex tickets. Visitors can purchase a flex ticket for $23.95 at any of the Potter Brother’s locations and redeem them for a full day lift ticket at Belleayre. This is great opportunity to save some money and start your workweek off right, with a day on the mountain. Also, Belleayre wants guests to know that they can still become season pass holders. The 2nd Half Season’s Pass prices dropped again this week, giving patrons a chance to purchase a 2008-2009 Season’s pass for less than half of the original price. The Mountain will also honor a 10% off discount for the 2009-2010 season’s pass with a 2nd Half Season’s pass purchase.
Events this week will be enhanced with the fantastic conditions. The Belleayre Cup Race will be held on Saturday, February 28th for all aged participants, beginning at 10:30am on Lower Yahoo. Registration will be held in the Garden Room of the Overlook Lodge costing $5 for 18 & under entrants, and $8 for 19 & over. Helmets are required for all racers. An awards ceremony honoring the top racers will be held at 3pm outside of the Overlook Lodge.
Helen Hayes Hospital will be hosting Adaptive Awareness Day on Sunday, March 1st. Hospital Staff will be on hand, educating visitors about the large variety of recreational capacities that athletes battling disabling conditions such as spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, and traumatic brain injuries, can have. Adaptive athletes are able to enjoy downhill skiing and snowboarding through specialized equipment and adaptive snowsports instruction. It is the goal to continue to inspire these admirable athletes to pursue their dreams of recreational pursuits. Helen Hayes Hospital will also be selling 50/50 raffle tickets to raise money for the Helen Hayes Adaptive Program, supporting the purchase of adaptive equipment to be used at Belleayre Mountain in partnership with Belleayre Mountain’s Adaptive Program. Belleayre Mountain will also be offering a $25 promotional ticket to the first 200 people that donate $10 or more to this cause, redeemable for that day.
