Hunter Mountain Hosts 2014 Celtic Festival on August 16th – 17th
Hunter, NY – Hunter Mountain is gearing up for the 2014 International Celtic Festival on August 16th and 17th, featuring traditional Celtic music, food, vendors, and entertainment all day long. Gates open at 11am, with the Opening Parade & March, featuring Ulster County AOH Pipe & Drum, kicking off at 12:30pm. Following the parade, music from Shilelagh Law, Celtica Pipes Rock, Screaming Orphans, Fighting Jamesons, and many more will take the stage! Enjoy the music while indulging in traditional Irish-American food and beer, plus a variety of vendors selling authentic Celtic merchandise and more. Stick around for fireworks Saturday night at 10pm!
Sunday’s lineup begins with a Catholic Mass from Father Frank Pizzarelli & The Andy Cooney Band at 10:30, followed by music and entertainment all day. At 6:30pm, the Bagpipe competition takes center stage, followed by the awe-inspiring Bagpipe Mass March, as hundreds of pipers and drummers march down the mountain and play in unison at the base, creating a spine-tingling experience! New this year, the Celtic Fest features the Mini Highland Games (for kids ages 7-12) and the Nicest Legs in Kilts Contest. Both will take place on Sunday, with registration on site at the Hunter Mountain events tent.
