Killington Ski Area

KILLINGTON, VT–Killington Resort, the largest ski and snowboard destination in Eastern North America, is pleased to announce a variety of new programs to entertain and excite guests both on and off the snow.

For adventurous skiers and snowboarders and die-hard powder hounds, Killington has added 745 aces of Natural Woods Areas within its boundaries to its skiable terrain this year. These areas are not opened, closed, or maintained by ski patrol but offer a chance to experience a natural experience within the resort’s boundaries.

Killington Resort has also introduced a new Uphill Travel policy to provide an enjoyable experience for guests skinning or snowshoeing uphill. Designated uphill travel routes will be made available at both Killington and Pico during the winter season as conditions permit. Routes are available at Killington from the Ramshead Base Lodge leading to the top of the Ramshead Express Quad and the summit of Ramshead Mountain, and at Pico from the base of the Little Pico Triple chairlift to the summit of Pico Mountain.

The Killington Snow Sports School has also teamed up with renowned adventure skier Dan Egan to offer All Terrain Ski Camps which will lead skiers and snowboarders on mountain adventures teaching skills including reading terrain and conditions, and picking the best lines down the mountain across varied terrain. The Snow Sports School has also partnered with Olympic Gold Medalist Donna Weinbrecht to offer Women’s Weekends – unforgettable learning experiences designed for ladies only.

Another major development for Killington in 2014 is the opening of the new Peak Lodge. The lodge will accommodate 300 guests and offer farm to table cuisine, stunning views of the Green, White and Adirondack Mountains and a full service bar. The Peak Lodge is Vermont’s highest structure at 4,100 feet above sea level and will expand Killington’s Cow Power program using electricity converted from cow manure to meet its energy needs. A grand opening celebration will be held on January 9.
