KILLINGTON, Vermont -??“ Killington Resort blew the first snow of the season Monday morning on upper Reason, utilizing 12 HKD Ranger Low Energy snow guns for a few hours.

“We charged and flushed out the system in preparation for the start of the season,” said Dave Lacombe, snow surfaces manager for Killington Resort. “If the forecast holds true, we’ll start making snow late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning to start building a base for opening day.”

Killington received 8 inches of snow at the summit on Sunday and has received 16 inches of snow for the month of October. The forecast is calling for colder temperatures to return Wednesday night and remain through the early part of next week with highs in the 20s and lows in the teens.

Killington Resort will open for the 2006-07 season very soon and offer top-to-bottom terrain served by the K-1 Express Gondola.
