About Nashoba Valley: Nashoba Valley Ski Area is a full-service ski area offering lessons, rentals, skiing, snowboarding, and tubing; it is also host to various activities throughout the year, all of which make Nashoba Valley Ski Area Boston’s year-round recreational facility. When Nashoba opened for its first season in 1964, there were rope tows servicing four slopes, and the base lodge had a gravel floor and heated by a pot-bellied stove. That first season, staff had to pack the snow on the slopes with shovels due to a lack of grooming machines. Over the years, Nashoba expanded with various sized ski lifts, updated lodges, state of the art snow making equipment and snow grooming machines. They now operate with an uphill capacity of 11,600 per hour, deliver an average annual snowfall of 50”, and have 17 trails open 7 days/nights a week. In 2001, Nashoba Valley Ski Area opened what is now the largest snow-tubing park in New England.
