Okemo Hires New Marketing VP Dave Kulis
LUDLOW, Vt. – Okemo Mountain Resort is pleased to welcome Dave Kulis as the Resort’s new vice president of marketing.
Kulis’ arrival is something of a homecoming. Originally from the Boston area, he spent his high school and college years skiing at Okemo with his family and calls the Resort his “old stomping grounds.” Kulis graduated from Middlebury College and worked his way from the position of intern to marketing director at Ascutney Mountain, in Vermont. He also worked at Camelback, in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, and most recently was director of sales and marketing at Schweitzer Mountain, in Idaho. Kulis’ emotional connection to Okemo is a strong one; he proposed marriage to his sweetheart at the top of Okemo’s South Ridge Chair. Randi accepted and the couple now have three children.
“The opportunity to return to Okemo is a dream come true for me and my family, but it’s not all about nostalgia for Vermont and a place where I grew up,” said Kulis. “More important for me is the fact that I’m joining a great team with a tremendous reputation for excellence in the hospitality industry.”
Rising above the village of Ludlow, in south-central Vermont, Okemo Mountain Resort is a four-season playground that built its reputation for quality and superior guest service as a winter retreat for skiers and snowboarders. Originally a small community-run ski hill, Okemo began to blossom in 1982 under the ownership of Tim and Diane Mueller. Creating “The Okemo Difference” consistently earns the Resort accolades and awards for snow quality, grooming, terrain parks, family programs, slopeside lodging, resort dining and guest service. In addition to an on-snow lineup of family fun, Okemo offers a variety of activities including ice skating, snowshoeing, tubing, a pool and fitness center, spa services, and family events and activities. Two 18-hole championship golf courses highlight the warm-weather offerings. The Resort’s Adventure Zone includes an all-season mountain coaster, zipline tours, miniature golf, disc golf, trampoline bungee jumping, a climbing wall, the Amp Energy Big Air Bag, Segway Personal Transport tours, and, debuting later this summer, a self-guided treetop challenge course.
