Vermont and New Hampshire Wonderful $39 Wednesdays

Vermont and New Hampshire residents can ski and ride the entire day for just $39 on Wednesdays in Jan. or enjoy a special half-day rate from 12:30 to 4 p.m. for just $22. Looking ahead, the same great deal will be offered on select Wednesdays in March, and the rate will drop to $29 on Wednesdays in April. Proof of residency in the form of a valid Vt. or N.H. driver’s license, hunting/fishing license, or voter registration card must be presented at the time of purchase.

January Tribute to U.S. Fire, Police and Ambulance Personnel

Okemo is offering a tribute to U.S. police officers, firefighters and ambulance personnel every Tuesday and Thursday during the month of January with a special half-price lift ticket. When they show an I.D card/badge and a photo ID at the Mountain Services Center in the Okemo base area or the Jackson Gore base area, police officers, firefighters and ambulance personnel will receive 50 percent off the price of an adult full-day, full-price lift ticket. It’s Okemo’s way of saying thank you to skiing and snowboarding civil servants. Valid dates include Tuesdays: January 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31; and Thursdays: January 5, 12, 19, 26.

Active Military

Okemo offers a military discount for United States military personnel who are serving active duty. Although they typically receive half off midweek lift tickets all season long, from Jan. 1 to 31, military personnel who show an active duty ID at Okemo’s Mountain Services Center will receive 50 percent off a lift ticket every day in January (excluding Jan. 14 and 15).

Okemo Ups the Ante for Flex Card Holders Jan. 7 and 8

Flex Cards earn holders 50 percent off the daily lift ticket prices for both Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 7 and 8. Normally, the Okemo Flex Card provides card holders with a 25 percent savings on daily lift ticket rates during weekends and holidays. By presenting a Flex Card, Okemo skiers and riders enjoy additional discounts on lift tickets, lessons, rentals, demos and lift tickets at Mount Sunapee, in N.H. and at Crested Butte, in Colo. Flex cards sell for $89 for adults; $79 for young adults and seniors; $59 for juniors and super seniors. They may be purchased anytime throughout the season at Okemo’s Mountain Services Center or online at www.okemo.com.

Okemo “I Have a Dream” Offer in honor of Martin Luther King

When skiers and riders buy a two-day adult holiday weekend lift ticket for Saturday, Jan. 14, and Sunday, Jan.15, or for Sunday, Jan. 15, and Monday, Jan. 16, at the regular price, they will receive 50 percent off a lift ticket on a return visit for any day, during the 2005/2006 season, after March 13.

The College Card

College students with an Okemo College Card receive 50 percent off full-day lift tickets everyday in January, excluding Jan. 14 and 15. During the rest of the season, the Okemo College Card gives students 50 percent off midweek lift tickets and $10 off the weekend and holiday rate. For full-time college students, this daily ticket program saves big bucks at two great mountains: Okemo, Vt. and nearby Mount Sunapee, in N.H.

Okemo’s Fiftieth Anniversary Celebration

On Jan. 31, Okemo Mountain Resort officially turns 50. It was a poor snow year in 1956 – long before Okemo became famous for its state-of-the-art snowmaking and grooming – so that first season got off to a late start. Okemo will kick off its birthday celebration on Saturday, Jan. 28, with events and activities including an old-fashioned “Rocking Chair Race” for anyone 50 and older, an on-mountain scavenger hunt, lift line trivia, a Sock Hop Apres Ski Party and more. Anyone 50 and older will pay the original lift ticket rate of $5 on Okemo’s true anniversary, Jan. 31, and everyone else under 50 can ski or ride for just $50.
