Robert McEleney, CEO and President of Stowe Mountain Resort, is pleased to announce the promotion of PGA Professional Ron Philo Jr., to Club Manager and Director of Golf for both Stowe Mountain Club and Stowe Country Club. Ron’s new responsibilities include management of the historic Stowe Country Club as well as his existing role managing the exclusive Stowe Mountain Club, a year-round, private club with incomparable social and recreational amenities which include championship golf, skiing, Spa and Wellness Center.
Ron’s 20 plus years of professional experience include eight Major PGA Championship appearances including one US Open and playing in over a dozen PGA Tour events. His titles and accolades consist of being a PGA Professional National Champion, 5-Time PGA Section Champion – in New England, Metropolitan New York, and North Florida, 5-Time PGA Section Player of the Year and recognized as ‘Best Teacher in State’ by Golf Digest and New England Golf Journal. Ron was recognized by his peers in New England with the 2011 NEPGA Teacher of the Year Award. Ron is also coach to his sister Laura Diaz, an LPGA Tour Player.
