Senator Bonacic Visits Belleayre to Tour Adaptive Snowsports Center
HIGHMOUNT, New York — Senator John Bonacic visited Belleayre Mountain on Wednesday, September 17th where toured the new Belleayre Adaptive Snowsports Center construction site with Superintendent Tony Lanza and the head of the Belleayre Adaptive Snowsports Program, Bettie Rae Liskom. Construction of the new Adaptive Snowsports Center is being funded with money provided to Belleayre by Senator Bonacic and the New York State Senate. The new Adaptive Snowsports Center will be completed in time for the 2008-2009 ski season.
During his visit to the mountain Senator Bonacic, who has long been one of Belleayre’s strongest supporters in the NY State Senate, addressed the Belleayre Region Lodging and Tourism Association at their annual Membership Drive Mixer. The Senator gave a speech to a crowd of local business owners reinforcing the needs for a strong regional business organization.
Belleayre Mountain is a year-round outdoor recreation area in the Catskill Mountains operated by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Belleayre Mountain’s website is www.belleayre.com.
