WARREN, Vermont — Dust off your one-piece and polish up your disco ball??В¦ it’s time to party. Sugarbush Resort will be celebrating its 50th birthday from Friday, December 12 to Sunday, December 14. The weekend-long celebration will be at the resort’s Lincoln Peak and feature festivities showcasing the highlights from the past five decades.

The celebration begins Friday evening with a “premiere party” for a retrospective movie produced by Valley local Charlie Brown. The flick will feature the various personalities that have made Sugarbush so special since its lifts first started spinning on December 25th, 1958. The movie begins at 9 P.M. in the Gate House Lodge. Doors open at 8 P.M. for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Admission is free. Timbers Restaurant will serve dinner with live entertainment prior to the movie screening.

The party ramps up on Saturday with a lineup of on-mountain events throughout the day including the return of the infamous Sloshwicking race, a retro apr??s-ski party in the afternoon, and a gala celebration that evening. A torchlight parade and fireworks display will precede dinner and dancing. And there will be plenty of dancing because Saturday night’s entertainment will be provided the famed Motor Booty Affair, the ultimate disco party band. “Retro” is the theme of the weekend and a 2009-10 season pass will be awarded to the party guest with the best vintage outfit.
