Windham Mountain Summer Event Schedule 2011

Windham, NY (May 26, 2011) – – Windham Mountain offers guests outdoor sporting events and entertainment this summer.

May 28 – Endless Winter Rail Jam: Windham Mountain will use a stockpile of snow to set up a jib park on the What’s Next trail. Last year’s event highlighted 9 features and attracted hundreds of participants. This is a free event open to skiers and riders starting at 10 a.m.

July 9 and 10 – Union Cyclist International Mountain Bike World Cup: Top cyclists from around the world will compete in downhill and cross country events at Windham Mountain. Nearly 1,000 racers competed in 2010. Last year Union Cyclist International ranked Windham among the best event venues in three disciplines. Organizers are also planning many community events, including cross-country and downhill racing for all levels of ability, a block party and a concert.

July 24 – Car, Truck and Bike Show: The 2nd annual Kenneth Casazza benefit Car, Truck, Bike Show and Swap meet. General Admission is free. Vehicle registration from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. price is $10. Vendor space for sale at $15. All proceeds benefit the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

August 7 – Tour of the Catskills: This weekend-long bike race will pass through the town of Windham and stop at Windham Mountain on Sunday August 7, 2011 for the end of Stage 3. The 2010 edition included 800 riders from more than 20 states and three countries.

August 13 and 14 – Warrior Dash: A five kilometer foot race over obstacles through Windham Mountain’s rugged terrain. Every half an hour, racers line up in waves of 650 to conquer the course. Each competitor is individually timed. Warriors are welcomed at the finish line with a pint of beer and bands all day. This year the resort expects to host 20,000 participants and numerous spectators. There are plenty of food and beverage options, highlighted by the popular turkey legs.

Windham Mountain Sky Ride: Windham Mountain’s “A-lift” will operate for sky rides to the 3,100″ summit of Windham Mountain. Hours of operation are Saturday and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting July 4th weekend (weather permitting). The cost to ride is $8 per adult and $6 for juniors.
