Hunter, Stowe, Sugarbush 12/12-12/15
Date(s) Skied: 12/12/14 - 12/15/14
Resort or Ski Area: Hunter, Stowe, and Sugarbush
Conditions: Powder, Packed Powder
Had a weekend trip planned for Stowe and Sugarbush, and decided last-minute to stop by Hunter on the way up.
Hunter 12/12: Echoing what's already been posted in other reports, Hunter was well worth the detour on Friday. Very heavy snow and low visibility, but great coverage, even on the "closed" trails. Runs of the day were Lower K27 and Claire's Way / Taylor's Run, plus the glades on the west side:

Stowe 12/14: The snow was tracked out on Mansfield by Sunday, but we had several nearly untouched runs off the Sensation Quad. Stowe didn't get quite as much snow this week as Hunter or Sugarbush, but the mountain was still almost fully skiable... just a few more rocks and roots to dodge. Snow was also much lighter in Vermont than in the Catskills.

Sugarbush 12/15: We were staying in Stowe village, so we planned to ski at Stowe again on Monday, but the Sugarbush mountain reports proved too tempting to pass up. Although the drive was cloudy all the way down through the valley, the sun was shining on Lincoln Peak almost biblically when we arrived. The fresh inch of snow didn't hurt, either... conditions were much softer than the day before. Runs of the day were Paradise (above the clouds) and Spring Fling (nice drifts piled up in the moguls down the right side).
