Hannes Schneider Meister Cup Race Returns to Cranmore in March

NORTH CONWAY, New Hampshire — Skiers from throughout the world will convene in March for the annual Hannes Schneider Meister Cup Race to celebrate the pioneer of American skiing. Additional events in March include the eco-friendly IZSTYLE Winter Tour and Cranapalooza, all taking place at Cranmore Mountain Resort in North Conway, NH.

The Annual Hannes Schneider Meister Cup race returns to Cranmore Mountain Resort Saturday, March 10 for a festive day of skiing nostalgia. The 10th Mountain Division World War II Veterans and active duty Color Guard will be at Cranmore along with travelers from afar to celebrate and honor Hannes Schneider, the father of American skiing. Activities include opening ceremony, silent auction, and the race to benefit the New England Ski Museum, located in Franconia, NH. The IZSTYLE Winter Tour will take over Cranmore on Saturday, March 3 and Sunday, March 4. This event promoting environmental awareness and alternative energy includes a village of tents that house exhibits, presentations, complimentary demos and samples from Stonyfield Farm, Bear Naked Granola, Java Pop soda, Clif Bar, Annie’s Mac & Cheese, Nordica, Roxy, Specialized and Burton. Musical guest Fighting Gravity will perform in the Eating House from 4:30-6:30pm as part of the Bud Light Music Tour. Exhibits will be open from 8am-5:30pm Saturday, and 8am-3:30pm Sunday. Cranapalooza, the night time festival of activities with night skiing under the lights from 2-9pm, will take place on Saturday, March 3 with an eco-friendly go-green theme to coordinate with the IZSTYLE Winter Tour. In addition to a t-shirt giveaway in the South Chair lift line, s’mores around the fire pit, face painting on the Eating House deck and appearances by C-More the Penguin, musical guest Fighting Gravity will perform in the Eating House. Cranapalooza on Saturday, March 10 will include the old timey fun theme and musical guests Dennis and Davey. Fireworks are set to launch at 7:30pm to celebrate the last Cranapalooza of the season.

Cranapalooza lift tickets are available at $19 for all ages with access to lifts from 2-9pm. Skiers or riders who bring the same day’s ticket from any other mountain to the Cranmore Ticket Haus can get a Cranapalooza ticket for $15. Lift tickets are not required for Cranapalooza activities such as live music, entertainers and fireworks.

Cranmore is open from 9am-4pm Monday-Friday, 8:30am-9pm Cranapalooza Saturdays, and 8:30am-4pm Sundays. The Arctic Blast Tubing Park is open 9am-9pm Fridays and Saturdays, and 9am-4pm Sundays.
