BRIDGTON, Maine — Chet and Shirley Homer, owners of Shawnee Peak in Bridgton, Maine, are proud to announce that Moonlight Charity Challenge will return for its 12th year on February 2, 2007. Benefiting Camp Sunshine in Casco and the Shawnee Peak Adaptive Skiing Program, Moonlight Charity Challenge puts the “fun” in fundraising by allowing participants to raise funds for great causes and ski and snowboard under the lights for great prizes.

Since its inception in 1994, Moonlight Charity Challenge has raised more than $350,000 for national, regional and local charities!

For the fifth year in a row, Downeast Energy is one of the Presenting Sponsors of the event. Holloway Automotive Group, of Greenland, NH, is the second Presenting Sponsor.

For the first time, WCSH 6 NBC’s Portland Affiliate, serves as the primary media sponsor. The organizers of Moonlight Charity Challenge would also like to recognize past and present sponsors including CIGNA HealthCare, Benefit Networks, National Distributors, Chick Lumber, Chalmers Insurance Group, 5seasons.net, Hutchins Trucking, Baker Newman & Noyes, Migis Lodge and Sunrise Graphics and Printing for continuing to support their efforts.

There are several ways to help the cause. Put together a race team of four friends, family members or co-workers. All abilities ??“ beginner, intermediate and advanced ??“ and all sliding influences ??“ ski, telemark or snowboard ??“ are welcome. With an initial entry fee of $300, each team member gets a lift ticket, dinner, welcome bag, event t-shirt and entry into several event raffles. And that’s not all. For every $100 the team raises above the initial entry fee, one second is shaved off the combined team time.

Don’t want to race? Purchase one of 200 $100 event raffle tickets! The Grand Prize is $3000 Cash! Second and third prizes are $1500 and $500, respectively. Buy a raffle ticket online at http://www.shawneepeak.com.
