35 Mile Adventure Race from Ski Plattekill to Belleayre Mountain

HIGHMOUNT and ROXBURY, New York ??” Belleayre Mountain and Ski Plattekill are teaming up to stage the second running of the Peak to Peak (p2p), a multi-sport adventure race through some of the most scenic areas of the northern Catskills. The race is set for Saturday June 18th at 10 AM as the featured event of the Catskill Mountain Outdoor Adventure Expo happening that weekend at Belleayre.

The race starts at Ski Plattekill, the Finish Line is at the Belleayre Mountain, a race between the two peaks. In between racers ride mountain bikes over trails and back roads, kayak on Lake Wawaka and the East Branch of the Delaware River, hit the highways on their road bikes and run over the trails to finish in front of the crowds at the Expo.

Registration for the race is now open. The fee for individual racers is $135 ($160 after 5/31), and for relay teams it’s $175 ($200 after 5/31). Racers in the first p2p get a 10% discount, but registration must be by regular mail. The entry fee includes the awards buffet, event t-shirt, access to both ski areas and a DVD of the first running of the race. Old Town kayaks are available for rent from Susan’s Pleasant Pheasant Farm at the racers’ option, but racers must provide their own bikes and logistical support.
