8th Annual Santa Sunday Brings Holiday Cheer to the Slopes of Sunday River

NEWRY, Maine — Hundreds of Santa Clauses will grace the slopes at Sunday River on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007 as part of Santa Weekend. Guests and media are urged to bring their cameras for this highly photogenic pre-holiday event.

The annual Santa Sunday is expected to bring hundreds of skiing and riding Santa??в„ўs to the slopes Dec. 2. The 8th annual event serves as a fundraiser for the Bethel Rotary Club??в„ўs Christmas toy drive. Last year??в„ўs event drew 170 Santa??в„ўs, donating $1,700 to the drive.

Bethel Rotary Club is a member of Rotary International, which provides humanitarian service and strives to build goodwill and peace in the world. Bethel Rotary Club is one of over 32,000 clubs located around the globe.

In order to participate, guests must wear head-to-toe Santa costumes. In exchange for a minimum donation to charity of $10 and participation in a photo shoot, the Santa??в„ўs will receive free skiing and riding for that day plus two additional early-season lift tickets.
