Over $218,000 raised over the past 12 years at the Childhood Cancer Lifeline Weekend at Pats Peak

Henniker, NH, March 13, 2012 — Childhood Cancer Lifeline Weekend at Pats Peak, held February 25 & 26, 2012, raised a total of $22,500, insuring much needed support for NH families who have a child battling cancer.

The auction and dinner was a large portion of the money raised along with the generosity of the Pats Peak skier/riders that donated at the cashier locations through the donation request campaign. Visitors to The Peak, along with Peak employees, papered the lodges with well wishes, collectively donating over $6,500. Pats Peak provided a cash donation and also included the Childhood Cancer Lifeline in their March Online Only Specials for a total of a $2,800 donation.

The Childhood Cancer Lifeline thanks October Sons for their talent and commitment to families battling cancer all weekend, and for organizing and lining up other performers for Sunday’s “We Will, We Will ROCK Cancer”.

Sylvia Pelletier, President of the Childhood Cancer Lifeline of NH says: “This event helps us to meet very real, practical needs of families living with childhood cancer. It allows us to put gas in the cars of families making the trek to treatment, or to pay a bill while a parent is out of work to care for their child. We continue to be both tremendously grateful, and amazed, by the outpouring of generosity from the community, area businesses and staff at Pats Peak during this event each year. YOU all help to make this a success. You are truly a part of the “lifeline” we offer families.”

The Childhood Cancer Lifeline has a great group of board members, and volunteers who work very hard to organize this event. They would like to thank: Rita Blanchard, Karen Kana, Eren Martin, and Amy Patenaude for their assistance requesting donations, and to the Bryer, Gokey and Nash families for helping to run the auction event.
