Arts Jubilee Concerts Highlight Summer Events at Cranmore

NORTH CONWAY, New Hampshire ??” Cranmore Mountain Resort is celebrating summer with several events and activities from June through September, including Arts Jubilee concerts, the Cranmore Hill Climb, 18th Annual Bach Festival, and other community activites.

Cranmore’s summer event season kicks off on Saturday, June 24th with the first of six Arts Jubilee concerts: Brent LaCasce and the Midnite Jazz. The concert begins at 7:30pm in the air-conditioned 10th Mountain Pavilion, where some of the finest New England jazz musicians can be heard. Refreshments will be available in the Pavilion, along with beer and wine from Cranmore’s Zip’s Pub. Since seating is limited, admission to this concert will be by advance ticket purchase only available for sale at the front desk of the Eastern Slope Inn, located on Rt. 16 in North Conway village.

Three Arts Jubilee concerts with no admission charge will be held outside in the main base area of the resort, featuring Tom Dean, Cormack McCarthy, and Joyce Anderson on July 13th, Annual Symphony Pops Concert on July 27th, and Wicked Smart Horn Band on August 10th. Two additional concerts featuring Dennis & Davy of Four Feet Two Shoes on August 17th, and Freese Brothers Big Band on September 16th will be held in the 10th Mountain Pavilion and will require advance ticket purchase only available for sale at the front desk of the Eastern Slope Inn.

The 19th Annual Cranmore Hill Climb takes place Saturday, July 8th at 9am at the Arlberg Lodge. The 10-kilometer, 2-lap course has approximately 2400 vertical feet of elevation and descent. Presented with White Mountain Milers, and Inov-8, this event benefits the White Mountain Milers/Gretchen B. Hatch Memorial Scholarship Fund.

White Mountain Musical Arts presents the 18th Annual Bach Festival August 24-27 at Cranmore. Approximately eighty professional and amateur musicians will be performing the great instrumental and vocal works of the Baroque master, Johann Sebastian Bach. There will be five performances throughout the weekend, with Friday and Saturday concerts at 7:30pm and a Sunday afternoon concert at 4pm held in the 10th Mountain Pavilion. Each concert will offer a pre-concert preview and lecture one-half hour before the concert time. The concerts will feature a variety of instrumental soloists and chamber groups as well as vocalists. Three types of seating will be available: a limited number of Conductor’s Circle seats at $20 each, mid-section seating at $12 each or $15 at the door, and the third section of seating is a suggested donation of $10 each. Additional events include the Red Jersey Summer Mountain Bike Series on July 20th, Antiques Appraisal Show on September 2nd, the Mud Bowl Ball on September 9th, and the 9th Annual Jen’s Friends Hill Climb on September 23rd.
