BARTLETT, New Hampshire ??” A long standing tradition in the Mount Washington Valley, the 32nd Annual Red Parka Challenge Cup hits the slopes of Attitash on Friday, March 18. Event proceeds benefit the Eastern Slope Ski Club Junior Program and registration is available online at www.redparkapub.com.

New for the 32nd Annual event is a team division that will battle for the William D. Paine trophy. Paine was an original supporter of the Eastern Slope Ski Club. The second place team will receive gift certificates valid at local independent restaurants.

“Much of the success of the Valley’s ski racers stems from the ESSC,” said Terry O’Brien, owner of the Red Parka Pub. “We’re very proud to be able to contribute to this valuable local organization. A new twist this year is that if you’re over 40 you could conceivably win all three divisions.”

Competitors may enter the Challenge Cup, Veteran or Team divisions. To qualify for the Veteran division racers must have competed in at least 3 previous Red Parka Challenge Cups. Racers will compete in a dual format and 4-person teams must have at least one member of the opposite gender.

The Red Parka Pub returns to Attitash at the end of the month for the Red Parka Regatta where teams ride ramshackle rigs down The Learning Center slope.

Attitash has a full line up of events in March including the 12th Annual Budweiser Spring Mania, which includes concerts, competitions and the ever-popular snow golf tournament. Guests are urged to visit www.attitash.com. for further information on ticket deals, spring events, and slopeside lodging packages starting as low as $59 per person per night including lift tickets at the Attitash Grand Summit Resort Hotel.
