Band “Fun” Plays at Wachusett Mountain
PRINCETON, Ma. — Before their performance at President Obama’s inauguration, sold-out concert tour, and appearance at the Grammy awards, where they have six nominations, “FUN” (currently one of the hottest bands in America) visited Wachusett Mountain Ski Area on Wednesday, Jan. 16 for an exclusive private concert.
Radio station WMJX-FM, Mix 104.1 partnered with Wachusett Mountain to create a unique “Mix Lounge” experience at the ski area. The 150 contest winners not only heard Fun. perform their hits “Some Nights,” “Carry On” and “We Are Young” but also received passes to ski or ride the mountain this season. At the event, Mix 104.1 DJ Gregg Daniels interviewed Nate Ruess, Andrew Dost, and Jack Antonoff about their wildly successful year, which resulted in the band receiving among its Grammy nominations nods for Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best New Artist. Singer Nate Ruess told the audience that Fun. has most recently been working on the live show for its upcoming tour which already has a sold-out date Feb. 1 at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston. Wachusett Mountain and WMJX previously worked together to bring O.A.R. to the ski area.
