LINCOLN, New Hampshire ??” The U.S. Ski Team recently announced that Loon, Waterville Valley and Cranmore Mountain Resort will each host Be a Fan Day, an event to celebrate and support U.S. Ski Team athletes on the way to Torino. The event will take place at each resort on Saturday, February 11, 2006, and one dollar from every lift ticket sold at each resort will be donated to support the U.S. Ski team.

“We are excited that our guests will have an opportunity to be honorary Ski Team members for a day,” said Debbie Moore, director of marketing for Loon, Waterville Valley and Cranmore. “New England skiers have an opportunity to share their devoted passion toward winter sports as the U.S. teams try to bring home the gold.”

Special on-site promotions will be held at each mountain along with games and events throughout the day.

“I’m excited about the enthusiasm for Be a Fan Day and we are thankful for the support from Loon, Waterville Valley and Cranmore,” said Bill Marolt, President/CEO of the U.S. Ski Team and a former Olympian himself. “Be a Fan Day will provide an outstanding opportunity for skiers in New Hampshire to celebrate our sport during the Olympic period, and to help the athletes of the U.S. Ski Team to be ?Best in the World’ in 2006.”

The U.S. Ski Team, governed by the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, the national governing body of Olympic skiing, fields and maintains teams of world-class athletes for national and international competition, including the Olympic Games. With the vision to be the ?Best in the World’ in Olympic skiing and snowboarding, USSA coordinates nationwide development and elite programs in six distinctly different Olympic sports: alpine, cross country, freestyle, nordic combined/ski jumping and snowboard, as well as two Paralympic sports – disabled alpine and disabled cross country.
