HIGHMOUNT, New York — Belleayre Mountain, New York’s Winter Snow Park, is scheduled to kick off its 57th season on Saturday, November 11th, weather and conditions permitting. With temperatures below freezing, Belleayre was able to start up the snow guns on Thursday night, November 2nd, and they didn’t slow down all weekend. The natural snowfall last week covered the slopes from top to bottom, and got everyone excited to tune up their skis and snowboards.

As an added incentive to ride and ski on opening weekend, Belleayre is offering a Buy One Now – Get One Free Later promotion. Purchase a lift ticket the weekend of November 11th, and bring that ticket back anytime late season, starting March 19, 2007, and get a free lift ticket of equal value. Midweek passes will also be accepted seven days a week through December 3rd.

There’s always exciting events happening at Belleayre, and opening weekend is no exception. November 12th is the Harvest Brunch Buffet & Auction in our Discovery Lodge, hosted by the Open Eye Theater of Margaretville, NY. A scrumptious buffet will highlight must-have auction items, with all proceeds benefitting the theater group. Call the Open Eye Theater at 845-586-1660 to purchase tickets.

Due to last year’s response to the Thanksgiving Rail Jam, Belleayre Mountain will be offering the Terrain Park Jam Series. Kicking off the Series is the first Rail Jam on Saturday, November 25th. The Rail Park will be set up on the lower half of the Wanatuska trail, and the jam will begin at 5 pm. Cash prizes for the top skier and snowboarder will get the kids out for a great night, with a performance in the Overlook Lodge by live band “Call It A Night”.

Belleayre Mountain is closed on Thanksgiving Day, but don’t forget to come work off some of that holiday stuffing the day after, with a $25 Day After Thanksgiving Special. For more information about opening weekend or all of the upcoming events at Belleayre Mountain, visit or call 800-942-6904.
