BRETTON WOODS, New Hampshire ??” In honor of Bretton Woods Director of Skiing and 2005 FIS World Cup Champion Bode Miller, Governor John Lynch will proclaim Friday, April 29, 2005 as Bode Miller Day in New Hampshire. ???Bode Miller??™s hard work, dedication, innovation, and his never-quit attitude truly exemplify the New Hampshire spirit. Friday??™s celebration will give the people of New Hampshire an opportunity to honor his accomplishments,??? said Governor Lynch.

Governor Lynch will officially issue the proclamation at 5 p.m. on Friday at the Bretton Woods Mountain Resort base lodge. Bode Miller will be in attendance as well as local and state officials. The public is invited to share in the celebration, and following the announcement, Bode fans are also invited to join Bretton Woods in congratulating its own local hero at BodeFest Ski and Golf Challenge 2005.

That evening, social guests and participants in the competition will join Bode for a Welcome Reception and Harpoon Brewery Brew Tasting at the Slopeside Pub. Guests will have a chance to mingle with Bode Miller and his friends with live music by Bode??в„ўs favorite local band, Dirty Joke, presented by Harpoon Brewery. The action goes big at 6:30 pm as Jumpin??в„ў Jack Sports presents a freestyle trampoline aerial show, a big air display featuring Nico Fontaine, four-time World Aerial Champion and silver medallist in the 1992 Olympics. Bode will also host his weekly Sirius Satellite Radio show live from Bretton Woods that evening. On The Bode Show, Miller will take listeners along as he, his friends and other racers talk about their experiences on and off the Alpine circuit.

Saturday, April 30, the festivities start with team check-in and a Continental breakfast on the Slopeside level of the Bretton Woods Base Lodge. Bode will be on hand for last minute pre-race pointers. Starting at 8:30 a.m., an exciting modified giant slalom course will test the metal of four-person teams for the fastest time of the day. Following a tasty barbecue on the lodge??в„ўs outdoor deck, competitors will trade in their goggles for golf balls and head to the fairways of The Mount Washington Resort for opening day of the 2005 golf season. A nine-hole scramble will decide the world champions of BodeFest 2005. Immediately following the competition, the Barilla Pasta awards dinner, with live music by Last Kid Picked presented by Harpoon Brewery, will take place in the Mount Washington Hotel Ballroom. Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams, and to the fastest skier and closest ball to the pin in male and female categories.
