Bolton Valley Resort Welcomes Spring with Plenty of Snow and Looks Ahead to Summer

BOLTON VALLEY, Vermont ??” Despite this winter’s inconsistent weather, Bolton Valley Resort is heading into spring with plenty of snow. The Resort is on track to receive its typical average annual snowfall of 300″, picking up over 4 feet of snow in the month of February and 3 feet during the first week of March. Favorite spring events are right around the corner, including Burton’s Chill Fest on April 1 and Spring Fling & Pond Skimming on April 2. The resort’s closing day will be Sunday, April 2.

Bolton’s new Vista Quad Chair has been a big hit with both locals and vacationers this season. The new top-to-bottom quad brings skiers and riders to the top of Vista Peak, where they are able to explore the new Vista Bowl & Glades. The new Fireside Flatbread Pizzeria, a popular addition to the Base lodge, offers specialty flatbreads made to order in a wood-fired oven. Upgrades have also been made to the slopeside Hotel, Timberline Base Lodge and Sports & Fitness Center.

These improvements mark the beginning of a $10 million renaissance project. This summer the Resort will open an Adirondack-style conference and wedding facility that will be able to host large meetings, weddings, and conferences.

Bolton Valley Resort hosts a number of activities and events throughout the spring and summer. Set on 5,000 acres of alpine forest, Bolton Valley Resort transforms into a summer haven for mountain bikers, hikers and adventure enthusiasts. The Resort is on many summer travelers’ destination list for its close proximity to Burlington, Lake Champlain and north central Vermont area attractions.

Bolton Valley is the perfect place for both technical and recreational mountain bikers. The Alpine trails offer challenging terrain, while Bolton’s Nordic trails are great for cruising. Several weekends a month, staring July 1 and going through September, the lifts will be open for mountain bikers to ride. Rentals are available for those who do not have their own equipment.

For adventure seekers, the Bolton Adventure Center is the place to be offering a wide variety of outdoor summer fun and teambuilding exercises for school groups, corporate outings and individuals. The high and low Challenge Courses include elements like a zip line, Jacobs Ladder, giant swing and Leap of Faith. Guided rock climbing, rappelling, kayaking and cave exploration excursions are also offered for groups. The Bolton Adventure Center Adventure packages including lodging, are also available. Many area attractions are within a half hour drive of the Resort. Learn about Lake Champlain at Echo on the Burlington Waterfront, view one of the nation’s finest collections of Americana at the Shelburne Museum, take a boat ride on beautiful Lake Champlain or do some shopping on the Church Street Marketplace. The Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream factory and Vermont Teddy Bear factory are also a short drive away.
