Bolton Valley Snowshoe Shuffle on February 8th to Support American Lung Association

(Jan. 29, 2014) – Bolton Valley, Vermont’s most convenient ski area just 30 minutes from Burlington, once again will host the Bolton Valley Snowshoe Shuffle, a 5K walk or run on snowshoes, to benefit the American Lung Association, on Saturday, Feb. 8. The event will be held on a specially designed course at the Bolton Valley Nordic Center and will include several hills, groomed trails and single track. All abilities are welcome, from those who have never been on snowshoes to seasoned racers.

Fundraising efforts support the American Lung Association’s mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

Directly following the event, an awards ceremony will be held and prizes will be given to the top three male and female runners and top individual and team fundraisers.

Pre-registration is $35 and includes a drawstring backpack while supplies last; day-of registration is $40. Both individuals and teams are encouraged to participate and raise additional money for the American Lung Association. Anyone who raises $100 or more will receive a free alpine ski pass from Bolton Valley.

All proceeds from the 2014 Bolton Valley Snowshoe Shuffle support the Lung Association’s research, education and advocacy efforts.

With one of the highest base elevations of any Vermont Nordic Center, at 2,100 feet, The Bolton Nordic Center receives plenty of natural snow for its 100 km of terrain—earlier in the season and more often—and keeps it longer so guests can enjoy the pristine trails, lined with snow-covered balsam firs, where they may even find an animal track or two. Instruction is available for beginner groups, Nordic Kids, backcountry skiers plus private lessons for all abilities in classic and skate skiing.
