Bretton Woods and the Mount Washington Hotel Ring in the New Year

BRETTON WOODS, NH ??” Celebrate the New Year in Grand style! The Mount Washington Hotel and Bretton Woods Mountain Resort has planned an exciting schedule of festivities for young and old alike to ring in the New Year.

Enjoy fine cuisine, music, and libation during The Mount Washington Hotel’s three-night gala celebration, December 30 through January 2. Whether guests prefer an elegant, formal dinner in the lavish, award-winning Hotel Dining Room with dancing to the sounds of a live big band, or a fun, family-friendly celebration with a grand buffet in the Ballroom followed by an early countdown celebration, New Year’s Eve will be an event for all to enjoy. Special children-only and teen parties are also available. Don’t miss the spectacular fireworks show, plus enjoy all the resort’s recreational and cultural amenities.

Pre-New Year’s Eve activities will include culinary demonstrations, guided snowshoe tours, a wine tasting and hot cocoa reception, and “The Magic of Jason Purdy,” featuring classic illusions and slight of hand, plus an awe-inspiring dove act.

Festivities are ongoing and include plenty of seasonal music like a hand bell choir, pianist Mila Filatova, sing-alongs, plus the resort’s own Mount Washington Ensemble, Jazz Band, and the McClenathans. Music is a big part of every celebration at The Mount Washington. The Ensemble plays every evening in the hotel’s elegant dining room and the McClenathans play dance music in the Cave Lounge nightly.

New Year’s Eve offers something special for everyone: Families can choose to celebrate at the Family New Year’s Buffet and Party, with live entertainment, JuJuBee the Clown, party favors and a sparkling toast. An early countdown will be held for families at 10:30pm, with an official countdown at midnight. The Family Party in the Ballroom is included in the rate for Hotel guests; tickets may also be purchased for $99 per adult and $49 per child ages 4-12.

For parents who’d like a night on their own, separate parties will be hosted for kids and teens, so that Mom and Dad can attend the formal Gala Dinner and Party. The Kids New Year’s Eve Gala is a fully supervised program and activities will include crazy hat creation, group games, and a movie and ice cream social. The children’s buffet will be open to all children staying at The Mount Washington Hotel, not only to Kids Camp children. The Kids New Year’s Eve Gala is complimentary for all Hotel guests; the fee is $50 for all other Resort guests. Teens can attend the Chem-Free party at the Sports Club, which will feature a DJ with a video and light show, video games, walleyball, movies, pizza, snacks, entertainment and prizes. The Teen Chem-Free party is $25 and is included in the rate for hotel package guests. Teens should bring warm clothes to watch the torchlight parade and fireworks. Adults can enjoy a cocktail reception, followed by a 5-course plated dinner, live music, and a champagne toast at midnight. Gala tickets are included in the rate for hotel guests; tickets may also be purchased for $175 per person, and includes reception, dinner, and formal party.

Merrymakers may also celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Bretton Woods Base Lodge. Ring in 2005 with night skiing, a torchlight parade and a fantastic fireworks display! New year’s revelry includes a delicious dinner buffet and rock n’ roll party featuring live entertainment by Bosco and the Storm. Raise a glass to the New Year with a champagne toast, party favors and a special midnight countdown. This event is for adults (21+) only, but separate children-only and teen programs are also available.

Kids ages 4-12 are welcome to join in this special apr??s ski fun! The fully supervised program will take place in the Hobbit Ski School building from 7:00pm-12: 30am. The party will include live entertainment by Simplicity the Clown, games, activities, fireworks, and refreshments for kids. The fee will be $35.00 per child, and children must bring warm clothes to watch the torchlight parade and fireworks. Teens are invited attend the Chem-Free party at the Sports Club.

The festivities don’t end on Friday night! Saturday’s events and activities will include “I Love a Parade” Rose Bowl Parade viewing with JuJuBee the Clown for the kids and a Bloody Mary and Mimosa tasting for adults. The evening kicks off with a not-to-miss grand fireworks display in front of the hotel at 5:30.

For a Saturday that’s outta site, The Mount Washington Hotel is celebrating the ???70s with make-your-own tie-dye T-shirts and an all-day 70s film festival. Be sure to dress cool and funky in your 70’s threads for the Disco Party with live music by Bosco and the Storm. The Disco Party will include special dances and costume contests
