EAST BURKE, Vermont ??” Anthony Rootham has joined Burke Mountain’s executive team as Director of Food & Beverage. Rootham is responsible for the resort’s restaurant, bars, cafeterias and special functions. Rootham’s immediate challenge has been to streamline the operations of the F&B business and introduce new menu concepts. In the coming months, Rootham will introduce a new calendar of special events, live entertainment on Friday nights, Sunday and Monday night football specials, wine pairing dinners, and celebrity chef dinners. Rootham says, “This is a fantastic atmosphere in which to run a restaurant business. Just look at these surroundings! We’re going to zero in on the quality and delivery of the food product, offer a relaxed, comfortable environment and have more events involving our community.”

Originally from England, Rootham came to Burke from the St. Julien Hotel & Spa in Boulder, CO, where he was the Food& Beverage Director since 2004. Prior to his stint in Boulder, Rootham held Food & Beverage Director positions at the Mayflower Inn, a five-star, five-diamond resort in Washington, CT from 1999 to 2004, and the Royal Crescent Hotel, a five-star resort in Bath, England, from 1995 to 1999. From 1992 to 1995 he was the restaurant and bar manager at the Three Salmons Hotel, in South Wales, England.

Rootham, and his wife, Kusam, are currently looking for a place to settle in the area.

Charlotte Porcelli has joined the resort’s Marketing & Sales team as its Guest Relations/Sales Manager. She is responsible for managing the Guest Relations Office, formerly Guest Services, which includes retail ticket sales, season pass sales and office administration. She will also have responsibilities for selling wholesale products, such as group trips, as well as generating function business for the resort’s restaurant, the Tamarack Grill.

Prior to joining Burke Mountain, Charlotte was Director of Resort Services for Mount Snow, in W. Dover, VT. Charlotte’s other resort industry experience includes Marketing Manager and Real Estate Sales Manager for Crested Butte Mountain Resort, in Crested Butte, CO, and retail sales experience at Walt Disney World Company, in Orlando, FL.

“Our goal is to create a world class resort at Burke Mountain. To achieve this, we’ll need the best talent available. Charlotte has an exceptional background and we’re very fortunate to have someone of her caliber on our team,” says David Gwatkin, Director of Marketing & Sales at the resort.

Charlotte holds an MS in Geoenvironmental Studies from Shippensburg University and a BS in Geography from Clarion University. She and her husband, Fiore, live in East Burke, VT.
