Burke Mountain Welcomes New Snowsports Directors

EAST BURKE, Vermont — Burke Mountain announces two new staff.

Tom Trainor
Burke Mountain is pleased to announce the addition of Tom Trainor as the Resort’s new Snowsports Director. Trainor comes to Burke with forty years of ski industry experience. His credentials include Level III PSIA certification, USSCA Level II and leadership positions throughout Alpine Ski Racing and USSA.

Trainor has previously worked as the Ski School Director at Cannon Mountain in Franconia, NH and Big Boulder/ Jack Frost Ski Areas in Blakeslee, PA. He also coached and taught for Vail Resorts Association, and was on the Ski School Training Staff.

Trainor’s first move, to hire Freddy Torres, a Level II Certified Snowboard Specialist as his Assistant Director, rounds out the Snowsports Center management team. “I think Trainor’s move to hire a high-powered energetic snowboard specialist reinforces a forward thinking mode that Burke is now in. We are very excited about the one-two punch that these guys bring to Burke and are looking forward to the implementation of new programs focusing on beginners and women specific clinics”, says Joe Kasprzak, Director of Service Operations at the Resort.

Freddy Torres
Burke Mountain is also excited to announce the addition of Freddy Torres as the Resort’s new Assistant Snowsports Director. With over ten years of ski industry experience, Freddy’s credentials include American Association of Snowboard Instructors Level II Certification, as well as previous coaching and staff training experience. Most recently, Torres worked as the Snowboard Supervisor and Staff Trainer at Attitash Bear Peak in Bartlett, NH.

Torres’ other industry experience includes Snowboard Instructor/ Trainer at Cranmore Mountain and Snowboard Supervisor/ Staff Trainer at Bretton Woods.

Originally from Yuma, AZ, Freddy first discovered a passion for snowsports during a trip to North Conway, NH. Freddy currently resides in Lyndonville, VT.
