Camelback Mountain Turns Pink
Staff and Guests Come Together to Raise Money for Local and National Charities
TANNERSVILLE, PA -It is hard to find someone that has not been touched by breast cancer in some way. At Camelback Mountain Resort, we feel the same and therefore have partnered with Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) to help educate our staff and guests on the importance of an active lifestyle and early detection. This Saturday, February 11th will be packed with education and a full day fun with raffles and events for all to enjoy.
This is the third season where Camelback blankets the mountain in a sea of pink in support of breast cancer education. Last year, almost $5000 was raised and this year Camelback hopes to surpass that number. Fifty percent of the proceeds will benefit the Pocono Medical’s Breast Cancer Center, while the remaining 50% will go to B4BC.
The crowds at Camelback are encouraged to wear pink in support of the efforts. There will be pink hats, pink bandanas and other articles for sale to support the cause. Raffles take center stage throughout the day where the public can bid on items such as tickets, ski & board wear among others. The grand finale will be a raffle for private lessons with the “hunks and honeys” of Camelback’s SnowSports School.
SnowEast Magazine Readers’ Survey voted Camelback Mountain Resort the favorite resort in Pennsylvania. There are 34 trails, ranging from beginners to double black diamonds with 100% of the trails open for night skiing. Camelback is continuing on the cutting edge by adding a 50′ x 50′ airbag that tops out at 12 feet tall….just like stunt persons use in Hollywood films. Guests of all abilities can ski and board downhill, hit a jump and try any trick seen at the X Games and land safely and softly!
Always true to its name and mission, Camelback Mountain Resort, ensures action, adventure and excitement 365 days a year.
