Mount Snow Powder DayMount Snow, Vt. (January 20, 2014) – At this past Friday’s U.S. Grand Prix in Park City, Carinthia Pro Team skier and Mount Snow native Devin Logan officially made the 2014 U.S. Olympic Team in women’s ski slopestyle. Logan is the second Carinthia Pro Team skier to make the inaugural U.S. Olympic ski slopestyle team after C-Teamer Nick Goepper was the first athlete to qualify for the team back on December 21.

Devin grew up at Mount Snow and in addition to attending Mount Snow Academy she was a member of the Freestyle Competitions Program. Before that, she competed in the Grommet Jam series which is a friendly terrain park event for kids age 12 and under that still takes place at Mount Snow. Her professional career began in 2011 at the age of 17 when she was the only female to compete in both superpipe and slopestyle at the Winter X Games. That year as a rookie she earned the Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP) Overall World Championship, and then won the same title again in 2012.

Goepper has been a member of the Carinthia Pro Team for three years and has taken the professional freeskiing world by storm. Shortly after earning slopestyle gold at the 2013 Winter X Games, he made it to the top of the AFP men’s slopestyle world rankings and hasn’t relinquished that position since. Nick met U.S. Olympic Team selection criteria after being the top American finisher in the first two Olympic selection events.

“We are so proud to have two of the best freeskiing athletes on the planet call Mount Snow their home mountain,” said Dave Meeker, Mount Snow communications manager. “Devin and Nick are not only amazing athletes, but they are both great ambassadors for the sport.”

Also, hometown girl Kelly Clark was the first female snowboarder to be named to the 2014 U.S. Olympic Team in women’s snowboard halfpipe. This will be Kelly’s fourth Olympic competition. She is the most decorated snowboarder, male or female, in the history of the sport with more than 60 wins during her legendary career.
