November 13, 2012, – Londonderry, VT— There is a new pass option for skiers and riders which will save money every time it is used at Magic Mountain Ski Area—only it’s a pass skiers may already have purchased at another Vermont ski resort. Magic calls it the “Change of Pace” pass and it will allow any owner of a season pass at any Vermont ski resort to receive $10 off Magic’s already affordable weekend or holiday full-day tickets (regularly $59 for adults, $51 for teens and $39 for juniors).

“Arguably, Magic has the most challenging and interesting variety of terrain not only in southern Vermont, but across the state”, said Jim Sullivan, President of Magic Mountain. “We also have a very unique community ski culture and laid-back vibe with un-crowded slopes which we believe regular patrons of neighboring mountains will enjoy as our guests. Those resorts do a fantastic job and in combination with what Magic has to offer, we can really give ski enthusiasts an exciting change of pace over a long winter’s season.”

Located within 30 minutes of four major southern Vermont resorts, Magic can offer these loyal season pass holders 1700 vertical feet of southern Vermont’s steepest expert trails, acres of tree skiing and riding, legendary powder days, and interesting 1960s-style intermediate and beginner terrain—all delivered with a convenient centralized lodge and lift system, in a relaxed, stress-free classic Vermont atmosphere.  To get more value out of their Vermont ski resort pass, season pass holders simply have to show their pass at the Magic ticket booth to receive their reduced-priced ticket.  Besides the $10 discount for weekends and holidays, the savings on weekdays (Monday, Friday and weekday “Powder Days”) is $5 off Magic’s low $39 adult, $35 teen and $25 junior ticket prices.

“We understand that the season pass investment makes it harder to go explore something different so hopefully this makes it a little easier”, say Geoff Hatheway, VP of Marketing for Magic. “Plus, a little adventure is good for the soul—even if it’s just for one day.”

About Magic Mountain Ski Area

Magic is southern Vermont’s only independently owned and operated mountain. Different than the corporate resorts, Magic has stayed true to the original Vermont ski culture.  Magic skiers enjoy a mountain emphasizing natural, diverse ski terrain in an atmosphere of shared camaraderie for the sport both on the slopes and in the lodge after a long, rewarding day. Magic has an authentic vibe because, in reality, it still remains first and foremost a ski area, not a “resort”—and a distinctly Vermont one at that. It’s a community spirit that keeps Magic thriving for those committed ski and riding enthusiasts who want to “carve their own trail” and experience real snow and obstacles that mother-nature puts on the hill. And, it’s why Magic skiers love the mountain so much that they personally invested in the ski area via The Magic Partnership in order to enhance and preserve it for future generations to enjoy.
