WOODBURY, Connecticut — At Dusk on November 7th the feeling was in the air. The snowmaking crew at Woodbury had been chomping at the bit for the past several weeks waiting for just the right opportunity to lay down some fresh powder. As night fell, owner Rod Taylor called in the snowmaking crew and gave the go ahead to start up. When morning came and the sun rose, the Beginner hill had been transformed to a winter wonderland.

Rod says “I am very enthusiastic about the upcoming season and have high hopes to maintain a large early season trail counts.”

Guests are encouraged to check out the snow cams as they show the conditions at the area in real time. Plenty of rails, jumps and grinds will be put out for all of the snowboarders who can’t wait to get back on the snow. With a little luck, Mother Nature will cooperate and keep low night time temperatures which will allow Taylor to rapidly increase the trail count when conditions permit.

Rod also says “Woodbury aims to have as many trails open as possible by Thanksgiving”.
