Cranmore Rings in the Holidays With An Array of Fun Festive Events

NORTH CONWAY, NH- This Christmas vacation week, Cranmore is the place to be, with a host of fun family activities all week long. This in combination with over $8 million in improvements since 2010 makes the holidays extra special at North Conway’s hometown mountain. With the addition of the new Soaring Eagle Zipline joining the other Mountain Adventure Park rides and attractions, there are more activities than ever on top of all that great skiing and riding! Here’s a run down on what’s going on at Cranmore this holiday period:

December 22, 2012 – First Tracks with the GM
Cranmore season passholders are invited to take first tracks with Cranmore GM Ben Wilcox. Meet at the Skimobile Express Quad at 7:45am.

December 22, 2012 – FREE Soaring Eagle Zipline Rides
Ride the new Soaring Eagle Zipline for free from 9am – noon on Dec. 22.

December 23, 2012 Nevado Demo Day
From 10am-2pm Nevado will be on property demoing the latest gear including skis, boots and board equipment.

December 24 & 25, 2012 – Christmas Eve and Christmas Day – We’re Open!
Join us from 9-4pm for skiing plus all our Mountain Adventure Park activities including snow tubing.

December 26, 2012 – Winter Wonderland Cranapalooza
This fun-filled event featuring face painting, s’mores, games with C-more the Penguin, live music from Jim Tyrell and family entertainment from BoBo T Clown. To complement Cranaplooza activities, Cranmore’s zipline, mountain coaster, giant swing and snow tubing park operate until 9pm, and the mountain remains open for skiing until 6pm.

December 28, 2012 – Schneider Chairlift Dedication
The new triple chairlift is to be named in honor of Herbert Schneider who passed away in June 2012. Herbert Schneider, who arrived in North Conway, NH with his family from Austria as a 15-year-old in 1939, devoted his life to skiing and his community in the Eastern Slopes Region of the White Mountains. He was a long-time owner and General Manager of Cranmore Mountain. Schneider’s sons, Hannes and Christoph Schneider, and grandsons Marcus and Hannes Schneider, will be guests of honor at the dedication taking place at noon.

December 29, 2012 – Fairy Tale Cranapalooza
The holiday week’s second Cranapalooza features a Fairy Tale theme and will include a visit from some of Story Land’s most popular characters! Fireworks go off at 6:30pm! Enjoy a free magic show from The Magic of the Steelgraves and music from the Tugg Brothers.

Also taking place Dec. 29, join Tom Eastman for a book signing of his new publication on the History of Cranmore at our Sport Thoma retail shop from 2-4pm.

Live Music All Week Long
All vacation week long in Zip’s Pub, Cranmore will be offering après ski entertainment, with some of the valley’s favorite musicians, scheduled from 3-6pm in Zip’s Pub. Starting Tues., December 26th and running through Monday Dec. 31st, performers include Heather Pierson, Bill Cameron and Red Gallagher.

Cranmore’s Mountain Adventure Park activities will operate extended hours for the holiday period, from Dec. 26-Dec. 31 from 9am – 9pm; on Jan. 1 they are open until 4pm.

Ski area operations during the holiday week from Dec. 26 – Dec. 31 are from 8:30am – 6pm. The extended hours until 6pm for the holiday week is included at no extra cost to all full day lift tickets purchased during the period.
