While Wildcat Mountain Ski Area is widely renowned for it’s skiing and riding in the winter and spring, Wildcat Mountain also offers a wonderful escape for families, friends, and groups in the summer and fall seasons. Wildcat’s location in the White Mountain National Forest and unprecedented views Mt. Washington and Tuckerman Ravine provide the perfect backdrop for summer fun, adventure, relaxation, and even celebration.

Wildcat’s Summer Gondola Skyride, NH’s highest 4- passenger gondola, is a unique lift conversion, where the 6,700 foot high-speed Quad line used in the winter and spring months is converted to transport the 4-passenger gondolas to the summit during the summer and fall seasons.

Wildcat’s cafe-style restaurant, with outside deck, offers an excellent menu, including freshly made sandwich wraps and salads, and includes a Make-Your-Own-Sundae Ice Cream Bar. Family picnics and Lunch and Ride Packages are also available to bring along on your gondola skyride or hike. Beer and wine are now also available in the restaurant, offering a great stop along Route 16 as well as the perfect facility for intimate gatherings, BBQ’s, and parties. The 1-mile self-guided nature walk to Thomspon Brook Falls is a popular activity, as well as a short walk along the famous Appalachian Trail which traverses Wildcat’s summit. Anglers are welcome as well to fish in Wildcat Pond, stocked with trout.

Wildcat is host to many events in the summer, a few of which are: The 16th Annual Kids Free Fishing Day sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service on Sat., June 3rd; On Father’s Day, Sun., June 18th, Dads ride the gondola for free; and every Wednesday throughout July and August from 10am-12 noon, an interpretive program is guided by a Tin Mountain Conservation naturalist. Wildcat also hosts special events such as the Wildman Biathlon on Sat., August 12th, which is a very challenging benefit race.
