NORTH CREEK, New York — Gore Mountain is stacking up the opportunities for winter fun, kicking off the first weekend of March with a Full Moon Tubing Party, a 2-day Master the Mountain Ski Clinic, and the Northwoods Triathlon.

Saturday night’s Full Moon Tubing Party at the North Creek Ski Bowl offers 2-hour tubing tickets for just $10 as of 6pm, live family entertainment from Chip Chevalier 6pm-8pm, and complimentary s’mores around the fireplace. Our March 3-4 Master the Mountain ski clinic offers skiers of all abilities the chance to build confidence on more difficult terrain, and includes two full days of clinics, lift tickets, and meals for just $219. Sunday’s Northwoods Triathlon, a cool combination of downhill skiing, snowshoeing, and nordic skiing, begins at 11am and welcomes teams as well as individual athletes.

A reminder that every Wednesday of the season is a Coca-Cola Wednesday. During this promotion, when you purchase a full-price adult lift ticket and surrender a Coca-Cola product, you get a one-day ticket free. In addition to the ticket discount, February 28 offers $5 off all tuning services, Mom’s Day Away March 14 offers discounts on salads, massage, daycare, and retail, and March 21 is BBQ Day on the deck with specials on ribs and draft beer.

Guests should begin building their sleds for March 11’s Cardboard Derby, presented by Gore Mountain and WRVE The River 95.5. The grand prize awards a trip for two to Aruba. Sleds will be judged on appearance and design, as well as successful downhill performance (not speed). Creativity is strongly encouraged. Sleds of past competitions have included a perfect US Air jet replica, the Titanic, and an enormous Brontosaurus. For rules and to register, log on to www.wrve.com.

March 18 is Son Day Sundae Sunday. This family-oriented promotion offers up free skiing and tubing for sons 19 and under with full-paid parent, plus a free ice cream party sponsored by Stewart’s Shops and a parent-son race.
