HIGHMOUNT, New York ??” The helicopter returns on Wednesday, June 21st to Belleayre Mountain to set the converted lift towers of the Super Chief chairlift on their new footings. This is a major milestone in the upgrade of the Super Chief chairlift from a fixed grip to a detachable lift.

It’s been six weeks since the helicopter removed the old towers, and staff from Belleayre Mountain has been working steadily to prepare for the helicopter’s return. The old fittings were removed, the line surveyed, new footings were poured and each tower was modified to accommodate the new lift.

The public is welcome to share in the excitement at noontime on Wednesday. Safe zones will be roped off where one can watch the helicopter’s progress. Fourteen towers in all will be flown from the Tomahawk Lift parking lot to their new footings. For more information, contact Belleayre Mountain at 845-254-5600 or visit their website at www.belleayre.com.
