From Now to New Year’s Santa’s Visit, Tree Lighting, Caroling and more start the holiday season.

Stratton Mountain, VT – There is no doubt that the holiday season is upon us, whether you measure from the first snowfall, from the day Christmas carols start dominating the radio waves, or from Santa’s visit. And visit he will, Saturday, December 15, at Stratton Mountain Resort.

Colder temperatures this week are getting Stratton’s snowmakers back in action to build coverage on our 167 open acres and expand skiable terrain. To start the season right, kids can still ski & ride free before December 21 with any adult lift ticket when purchased online.

Holiday events and activities kick off this weekend at Stratton, with a visit from Santa, tree lighting and caroling and our annual winter gala. Below are this weekend’s highlights:

Saturday, December 15:
Flag Parade and Santa’s Arrival, 3 pm.
After a traditional flag parade to celebrate the holidays around the world, Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive in Stratton’s Village by dog sled. Free.

Tree Lighting & Caroling, 3:30 pm.
Join Santa and the Blue Moon Carolers for hot cocoa, roasted marshmallows and our annual tree lighting ceremony, in the Courtyard next to the Clocktower. Free.

Pictures with Santa, 4-5 pm.
Cookies, cocoa and photos with Santa in the Long Trail Library. Free.

Yoga for Skiers and Riders, 4:15-5:15 pm.
A yoga class targeting core strength, flexibility, and imbalance, all key to reducing the risk of injury at the new Living Room class space. Open to all levels, no experience necessary, $5 per class.

The Stratton Foundation’s Winter Gala, 7-11 pm.
An elegant evening of drinks, dancing, food and good company, an annual benefit for the Stratton Foundation. Bid in the silent auction to win unique experiences like snowcat rides, private parties and a bib signed by Lindsey Vonn. Tickets at www.strattonfoundation.com.
