HUNTER, New York — Hunter Mountain has announced a number of new summer performance camps for 2008. These off-site camps are held at specific locations that allow participants to ski and ride in the summer. Generally the camps are geared toward intermediate to advanced skiers and riders ages 19+ who are serious in their skiing and riding pursuits. They are open to any skier or rider and are booked first-come, first-serve.

The summer camps take place starting in May with the Mini Race Camp held at Arapahoe Basin in Colorado, then continues with a Lake Placid-based Freestyle Ramp Camp in July, a Conditioning Camp, Woodward’s Snowboard/Freestyle Camp in Pennsylvania and a Snowboard Camp at Mt. Hood, Oregon. Locations and dates for a number of the camps are TBD.

“Serious athletes need training and practice through the ski season, and also in the off-season,” says Jim Catalano, Race Director, and coordinator of these summer camps. “To do that, they need to be on the snow, even in the summer.”
Hunter Mountain also offers performance camps on-location, held on specific weekends throughout the season. Hunter also offers a variety of specialty camps and workshops on-location, throughout the snowsports season.
