Jiminy’s Annual Spring Fling

HANCOCK, Massachusetts ??” Saturday, March 26th Jiminy Peak will host it’s annual Spring Fling event. Spring Fling will feature fun for the whole family including a barbeque, fun races, a pie eating contest, a Cardboard Box Derby, and the finals for the After Hours Coyote Challenge series. Events will take place beginning at 10 am with Awards at 3 pm that afternoon.

The Cardboard Box Race will be at 10 am and is open to everyone. Participants may form teams but all team members must be able to ride in the Box at one time. The Boxes may not contain any metal and only cardboard and duct tape may come in contact with the snow. Helmets are required and a number of different prizes will be awarded for various categories.

The fun races taking place during Spring Fling include the Bikini Slalom, the Jiminy Peaker, and the Snoopy race. The Bikini Slalom begins at 12:30 pm and bathing suits must be worn and fully visible throughout the race. At 1:00 pm will be the Snoopy Race and the Jiminy Peaker. The Snoopy race is for children ages 4-5 who are not involved in a formal ski racing program. The Jiminy Peaker features a 6-8 age group and a 9-12 age group, again for kids who are not involved in a formal racing program. All these races are held on the 180 slope.

The finals for the After Hours Coyote Challenge will also take place during Spring Fling. The finals will begin with the Rail Jam finals at 12:00 pm in the Beginner Park on Grand Slam. The Half pipe finals will follow at 1:15 pm and the Park Jam finals at 2:30 pm, both on Coyote Ridge. They are by invitation only for the competitors who finished in the top ten in points in each division of the series throughout the season. A Rail Jam, Half Pipe, Park Jam, and Overall Champion will be crowned on the 26th.
