Killington Resort to Host Sports Illustrated Kids Next Snow SEARCH Qualifier Jan. 15

KILLINGTON, Vermont — Killington Resort will host a qualifying event for the 2007 Sports Illustrated KIDS Next Snow SEARCH, a national talent search to find young athletes who best represent the next generation of extreme skiers and snowboarders, on January 15th at Bear Mountain.

The season-long search includes more than 70 qualifying events, including six super-qualifiers, held at resorts across the United States and Canada throughout the season. The series will again culminate with more than 150 kids representing more than 70 resorts from throughout North America competing at the championships at Killington Resort March 2-4, 2007. The SEARCH is the first all-around, all-mountain, all-people competition to make the 2007 Sports Illustrated Kids Next Snow Team.

Killington’s qualifier is limited to 100 competitors and registration opens on-line at www.killington.com on Monday, January 8. Registration fees are $10 and competitors will need a valid lift ticket or season pass for the day of competition. Competitors will be allowed to sign up the day of the event on a space-available basis.

The competition will feature slopestyle and big air. Free pizza will be provided by Pizza Jerks following the competition for all athletes at the awards presentation and prize raffle at Bear Mountain Lodge.

Competitors will head to the third floor of Bear Lodge for pizza from Pizza Jerks and to wait for the judges to announce the four winners.
