Loon Mountain opens for the Season

LINCOLN, New Hampshire ??” Over the past two days, Loon Mountain received 5 inches of new snow and the resort opened Friday morning with a 17-inch base, 6 trails and 3 lifts in the midst of vast sunshine.

Skiers and riders can work off the Thanksgiving feast on Brookway Extension, Bear Island Bypass, Link, Upper Picked Rock, and Exodus. Terrain at the top of the mountain is currently available for intermediate to advanced-intermediate abilities. Beginner terrain is open at the base on Sarsparilla. The Gondola, East Basin Double Chair and the Sarsparilla Handle Tow are open. For tomorrow, Loon will open Sunset off the North Peak. Skiers and riders will need to download on the gondola at the end of the day.

Opening weekend events include the Turkey Triathlon and Thanksjibbin’ Rail Jam and movie premier, both tomorrow, Saturday, November 26.

Threedom Passes are still on sale with prices starting at just $269 for a Sunday-Friday pass, $329 for an Anytime Limited pass and only $469 to ski or ride every day of the 2005-06 season. Prices will go up on December 1.
