Martin Luther King Weekend Specials at Okemo Mountain Resort

LUDLOW, VT ??” With Okemo’s incredible snowmaking firepower, vast trail network and terrific snow conditions, the Martin Luther King weekend promises to be special for skiers and riders. In addition, the Okemo Valley Nordic Center is also open with cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Here’s a preview of “what’s happening” to kick-off the MLK Weekend:

MLK Weekend Sunday/Monday Solution Morning Half-Day Lift Ticket:
(Valid on Monday Too!). Okemo’s popular Sunday Solution morning half-day lift ticket is the perfect solution for weekend skiers and riders who prefer to ski in the morning and get an early start home on Sunday afternoon. This special lift ticket gives you a full 5 and 1/2 hours of skiing and riding, from 8:00 am until 1:30 pm As an added bonus, the Sunday Solution Morning half-day ticket will also be valid on Monday, January 17.

Adults (ages 19-64): $55
Young Adults (ages 13-18) and Senior (ages 65-69): $47
Juniors (ages 7-12) and Super Seniors (age 70+): $36
Kids 6 & under are FREE

Purchase Lift Tickets/Lessons/Equipment In Advance:
Okemo skiers and riders can purchase lift tickets in advance inside the Okemo Welcome Center (Lodging Office at the Okemo base) from 3:30 pm to 10:30 pm daily. Next day lessons and packages can be purchased from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm midweek (Monday through Friday) and from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on weekends and holidays inside the Mountain Service Office, or at the Cutting Edge Learning Center Desk, located in the Okemo Base Lodge, or in the Jackson Gore Express Rental Shop.

On Friday evenings starting January 7th through mid-March, the Okemo Express Rental Shop and the Jackson Gore Express Rental Shop will be open from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm so skiers and riders can purchase their lift tickets, lift/lesson packages and rental equipment in advance. Grab your gear in advance and enjoy first tracks!

Upcoming Events:
Sat-Fri, Jan 15-21: National Safety Week, sponsored by the National Ski Areas Association focuses on safety and awareness on the slopes with children’s clinics, safety messages and more.
Sat, Jan. 15: Torchlight Parade & Fireworks Display. The show begins 7:30 pm at the Okemo Base Area. Watch the torchlight parade of Okemo employees ski/snowboard down the mountain followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
Sat, Jan. 15: Vermont Pure Spring Water Snowshoe Tour co-sponsored by Atlas Snowshoes. Tours depart the Okemo Base Area at 7 pm and head up Bull Run for a bird’s-eye view of the fireworks.
Sat, Jan. 15: Miller Lite Apr??s Ski Party in the Sitting Bull from 3 to 6 pm.
Sat, Jan. 15: Bass Ale Apr??s Ski Party at Vermont Pizza Co. from 3 to 6 pm.
Tues, Jan 18: Okemo Innkeeper Race Series on NASTAR. Starts at 10 am. Sat, Jan. 22: Winterfest Tour. This awesome event features family fun, great games, giveaways, music and fabulous prizes in the Okemo Base Area.
Sat, Jan. 22: Okemo’s Gala Ski Ball. This invitational Black Tie event benefits the Okemo Community Challenge, which provides educational grants and charitable endeavors to local schools. At the Jackson Gore Roundhouse from 7 pm to midnight.
Sun, Jan. 23: Okemo Series SoBe Super Pipe Event. Competition is open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages. Registration from 8 am to 9 am in the Okemo Base Lodge Mezzanine. Event starts at 10 am in the SoBe Super Pipe. Entry fee is $20.
