Mountain Creek Hosts Burton Super Demo and Mid-Atlantic Snowboard Series

VERNON, New Jersey ??” Mountain Creek is thrilled to announce the return of two national events, The Burton Super Demo and rail jam and the Mid- Atlantic Snowboard Series on February 24-26, 2006.

The Burton Super Demo is the largest product demo in the snowboard world and will be stopping at Mountain Creek Feb. 24-26 during their nationwide tour of ten resorts. Throughout the demo, guests will have the chance to test out custom gear for free, including Burton boards, boots and bindings. The sponsor village will also offer goods from participating sponsors including Snickers, Volvo, Motorola, Bluetooth technology, Paul Mitchell and Nintendo GS.

To kick off the demo, Burton will host a free on-snow jam session on Friday, February 24th for riders of all ability levels looking to test out their rail riding skills in a non-competitive atmosphere. On-site registration will begin at 5pm at the Tylenol Main Park entrance on Vernon Peak. The event will start at 6pm and will revolve around the park features. There will be great prizes and giveaways provided by Burton.

For skiers and riders who are interested in a more competitive venue, Mountain Creek will also set the stage for the USASA supported Mid-Atlantic Snowboard Series, February 25-26. This two day slopestyle and superpipe competition will be held for riders trying to increase their point totals en-route the 2006 USASA Nationals in Northstar at Tahoe, CA on March 25-April 1. While skiers will not be competing for the Nationals, they are encouraged to join in the event.

The series will include two slopestyle competitions held on Kyber Trail on Saturday, February 25th and two halfpipe competitions on the superpipe on Sunday, February 26th. Registration for both comps will be held in the Training Room located next door to Guest Services at the Vernon Base area’s Cobblestone Village.

The schedule for both days of the Mid-Atlantic Snowboard Series will be as follows:

7:30 am – 8:30 am: Registration
9:00 am – 9:45 am: Practice
10:00 am: Rider’s Meeting
10:15 am: Event Start #1
12:00 pm: 12:45 p.m. Practice
1:00 pm: Event Start #2

A $20 entrance fee is required and Mountain Creek will offer discounted lift tickets to all competitors who do not already have one. Individuals who would like to join in this event must also be a USASA member and may sign up for temporary memberships online at www.snowboardseries.com.
