VERNON, New Jersey — In a continuing effort to represent the cutting edge of snow-sports, Mountain Creek has developed the Switch Academy. A “park and pipe” freeride program in a camp format, the Switch Academy was developed for both skiers and snowboarders ages 5 and up, who are comfortable on intermediate terrain.

The Switch Academy was designed to provide a safe and fun environment for sliders to develop freestyle skills. The coaches break it down into simple skills and movements, and create an environment that makes it fun and easy to learn and develop park and pipe chops. Worried about the gaping crowds, or falling off of cold metal objects? Members of the Mountain Creek Switch Academy will have access to a feature that is not only “friendly,” but away from the main terrain parks and prying eyes of the local experts. Parents, want to understand why your kids love park? Want to join them in the parks or pipe? The coaches can help you find your inner freestyler too, with programs that help you progress without the pain. Not only that, but this format allows for small group sizes allowing participants the opportunity to build bonds among fellow students and coaches, making learning even more fun!

Switch Academy is a seven week long program that runs weekends from January 20th through March 4th from 10am to 2pm, plus we will offer a President’s Week four-day session for $109. The full program costs $249 (lift tickets and rentals not included) and features qualified coaches for students at every level. Beginner freestylers are welcome to join and learn how to ride their first rail or nail their first jump. Intermediates can improve their technique and learn some cool new tricks. Even experts who are looking to perfect their style or prepare for competitions can find a place in the Academy.
